All 20 bridges and tunnels within the administrative boundaries of the Municipality of Beirut were inspected for their traffic barriers, safety systems, and joints.
AASHTO guide for Selecting Locating and Designing Traffic Barriers was used for the replacement of existing barriers. All bridge expansion joints were inspected and the needs for replacement, rehabilitation or maintenance were identified. Tender Documents with Plans of Bridges and Tunnels were issued.
